TIME CAPSULE

1983 ROD ACTION FEATURE CAR, AND MORE RECENTLY WAS A FEATURE IN  THE SINGER MEATLOAF’S PHOTO SHOOT.

Why spend countless hours and money trying to build a period correct lead sled, when you can buy one from the period with very low miles and all the cool stuff. This car was themed from the cars built by the Barris brothers in the 50’s. This was an0 early 80’s build. The more you look at this car, the more features you will notice and reminisce how you wanted one when you were a kid. From the Cadillac Firethorn met Lacquer paint to the ‘57 Olds 371 with chromed tripower intake with 3 Rochester two barrel carbs, and a detailed engine compartment.  The polished finned aluminum Offenhauser valve covers are very rarely seen. Notice the chrome on the water pump and generator cover, along with some nice pin striping.

The custom dash and interior were professionally trimmed using a Toronado front seat and a 60’s wrap around T-Bird rear seat. The tilt tele wheel is from a ’65 Caddy, and the dual spots are the real deal as are the ’57 Caddy hubcaps.

Hundreds and hundreds of hours were spent by original east coast customizers in building this one of a kind Merc Nostalgia Cruiser. Here are some of the details but call so I can explain everything. I have owned this car for about 19 years. The top was chopped 2 ˝“, but still has the vertical door and B pillars. The chop was properly engineered to allow the rear side windows to remain operable. A tubular grill was hand fabricated before being chromed. The bumper guards have been sectioned, lowering them for a smoother look. Back in the day you had to have Lincoln push button door handles, shaved hood and trunk, and frenched headlights. How about the hood side scoops and rear quarter panel scoops…almost didn’t see them did you. This would be the ultimate car to take to car shows this summer.

"This car has just the right amount of patina to warm the heart of any lead sled lover"

$40,000 is about half the cost to build one
